Ohsawa Organic Brown Rice
Organically grown in California on rich volcanic soil in the foothills of the Shasta and Trinity Mountains, Ohsawa Organic Brown Rice sets the standard of quality by which all other brown rice can be measured. Loaded with nutrients and bursting with flavor, our rice is harvested at just the right moment, when the golden grains are at the peak of ripeness. The rice is stored in its protective outer husk in special bins right on the farm, until it is freshly milled to our order.

How to cook Ohsawa Organic Brown Rice:
- Rinse rice and put in pot with tight-fitting lid. For 1c. rice, add 2c. water and a pinch of sea salt. Simmer 40-50 min., until water absorbed. Turn off heat and let it rest 5 minutes before removing lid. Stir and serve.
- If pressure cooking, reduce water to 1 1/4- 1 1/2 c. water per 1 c. rice.
- Optional: before cooking, soak rice 3 to 8 hours in cooking water to make it sweeter.
