Ingredients (serves 3-4):
- 1/3 cup Ohsawa Extra Virgin Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1/3 cup Ohsawa Shoyu
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp corn starch + 2-3 tsp water
- 1 pound spaghetti noodles
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish
- Sliced green onion, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Muso from Japan Umami Black Garlic Chili Crisp, for garnish
Directions:
- Cook the spaghetti to al dente according to package directions. Reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water then strain when done.
- While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chili flakes and saute for about 1 minute.
- Add the shoyu, honey, and rice vinegar. Reduce the heat to medium low and bring to a simmer.
- Mix the corn starch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the sauce. Stir frequently until thickened.
- Add the strained pasta and 2 tbsp of the reserved pasta water, tossing to combine until everything is thickened and the noodles have soaked up the sauce. Add more pasta water for a thinner consistency if desired.
- Garnish with cilantro, green onion, sesame seeds, and chili crisp. Enjoy!
