Light, crisp and full of flavor, this Shaved Carrot Salad transforms simple ingredients into a vibrant, satisfying dish. Thin ribbons of carrot are tossed in a creamy, savory-sweet sesame tahini dressing made with Ohsawa Shoyu and Toasted Sesame Oil. Finished with fresh herbs and a touch of heat, it’s the perfect balance of texture and flavor for an easy side or refreshing addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- 4 large carrots or 6 medium-large, peeled
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 2 tsp Ohsawa Shoyu
- 1 tsp Ohsawa Toasted Sesame Oil
- 2 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp honey
- Salt and pepper
- Chopped cilantro, to serve
- Chili crisp, to serve
- Sesame seeds, to serve
Directions
- Use a vegetable peeler on the carrots to shave thin ribbons. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the tahini, shoyu, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk to combine.
- Toss the carrots with the dressing until coated.
- Plate the carrots and garnish with chopped cilantro, chili crisp, and sesame seeds.
